Chemical Transfer.

Chemical TransferThe subject covered is immense and could not be explained in the few lines used on this webpage, however to give you an insight of our involvement we will indicate the steps taken to suit the correct equipment to the clients needs. The most critical question that requires an answer is whether the liquid will cause any reaction to the wetted surfaces of the pump, pipework or valves. For the clients own sake and there employees they must be certain of the following information:

  • Liquid description.
  • Concentration.
  • Temperature.
  • Flowrate required.
  • Head duty.
  • Specific gravity.
  • Flashpoint.

It may well be that you cannot answer the questions above as the liquid may be a proprietary brand or a mix. In this event and allowing that the container or vessel is not marked it may be necessary to provide a sample of the liquid and we will endeavour to provide the correct equipment.

To the best of our knowledge there is no liquid that cannot be safely transferred providing sufficient information is forthcoming. The transfer of any liquid other than potable water may well incur the wroth of the HSE if not given care when transferred, in fact before using a pump for potable water it is as advisable to discuss the proposed duty with us.
